This talk will center on Mr. Creel's experiences as lead engineer in developing HP's latest printer software. This software package will be included in all? most? many? of HP's desktop printers shipped in 1998 and for the foreseeable future. The package includes an embedded printer driver as well as an extensive user interface, configuring software, and even hooks to the internet. Mr. Creel's team used a variety of object oriented technologies in bringing the project to fruition and will discuss the tradeoffs and balances in doing so.
Christopher Creel is an Object Oriented Software Engineer for Hewlett-Packard's Color and Laser Printer division.
