Analysing Two Post-Quantum Cryptosystems: LOTUS and Mersenne

Abstract

LOTUS, designed by Le Trieu Phong, Takuya Hayashi, Toshinoti Aono and Shiho Motiai, is a lattice-based cryptosystem. It is based on Learning With Errors (LWE) assumption, and consists of LOTUS-PKE (Public key encryption) and LOTUS-KEM (Key encaspsulation mechanism)

Mersenne is a cryptosystem which is based on Mersenne numbers, i.e., numbers of the form p = 2^n -1. It is designed by Divesh Agarwal, Antoine Joux, Anupam Prakash and Miklos Santha.
