Nan and Walt's 1999 - 2000 Sabbatical
Report #5, October 14, 1999

Here we are in front of the Britannia, which reportedly serves the best fish and chips in Britain. They certainly were busy. In the background, you can see the Dungeness B nuclear power generation plant which we visited and the old lighthouse which Walt climbed.

On the way to the nuclear plant we noticed that a Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch Railway train was in. Notice that this a miniature train, the track spacing is very narrow!

Here we see both the new (Trinity) and Old Lighthouses and the top of yet another previous lighthouse base that Walt photographed on the way up to the top.

It was VERY windy at the top of the Old Lighthouse. When Walt was finally able to let go he photographed the light lens and the Trinity Lighthouse which is the current operational lighthouse.
