A set is a collection of objects which are already
clearly identifiable and distinct from one other.
Examples: Physical objects


The set of the members of our class.

The set of citizens in the USA.

The set of houses in Berlin.

The set of stars.
Examples: Conceptual objects


The roman alphabet.

The set made up of the four numbers 5, 6, 7, and 8.

The set of all natural numbers 1, 2, 3, 4, ...
