I am keen to know more about how convex optimization can be used in computational physics.

My background is in computer vision and machine learning, where I have reasonable exposure to convex optimization. At the same time, I have a soft corner for computational physics and I would like to do something about it.

Even if you have some non-convex problem, you're often using tools that are for convex programming anyway, e.g. gradient descent variants.2017-06-06
