What is a distribution of probabilities for movie to get specific average mark (on imdb.com for example)?
If there is rating scale 1-10.

For example what is a probability for movie to get 3 as an average mark or 10 and so on...

P.S. we can assume that ratings are random.

    There are many different distributions one could have, however for this question with random data I suggest a normal distribution. However you would need to provide the full sample and population size for us to see how closely the data actually fits a normal distribution - ie eg hypothesis testing. – 2017-01-13
