I'm reading this book and cannot make sense of the proof presented here: http://bit.ly/h8qAOJ

I have some understanding of abstract algebra but I'm not even sure if that's what we're dealing with here.

Some questions:

  • What is a homogeneous morphism? Is it the same as a homomorphism?

  • What does the notation "f [element of] Hom(v,u)" mean?

  • What does the notation "f = (f_1,...f_n)" mean? Is this a permutation group?

  • What is the degree of a homogeneous morphism?

  • What is A^p?
