An indicator function for integers $I_\mathbb{Z}(x)$:
$f(x)=1$ when $x \in \mathbb{Z}$ i.e. $x$ is an integer
$f(x)=0$ when $x \not\in \mathbb{Z}$ i.e. $x$ is not an integer
