ABSTRACT

Since November 1998, a group of 16 individuals--8 representing ACM and 8 representing the IEEE Computer Society--have been working to create a new computer science curriculum that will incorporate the massive changes that have taken place in our field since the appearance of Curriculum '91. The group has met three times--Richmond, Virginia in June, 1999, Palo Alto, CA, in August, 1999, and Colorado Springs, CO in January, 2000--and it is about to release the first of its planned drafts--the Strawman document. This talk will present a progress report on this curricular effort.
