The first day was sunny; it started cool but warmed up in the afternoon. The crew got to know one another.

This is the site that the lean-to overlooks. The pond
is on the States Farm; the owner, Carl States, is extremely generous in
allowing the FLT conference to build a lean-to in such an attractive location.

put in the gravel pad before we arrived; our challenge was to set the
foundation, level it, and square it.
