Pixmaps are adapted in PhotoShop , line drawings are created with OmniGraffle :
Currently, OmniGraffle has bounding box problems with eps and pdf export. eps would need to be adapted in Illustrator , but cannot.
Transparent material is difficult to prepare: gif works, png works inside html . Neither scales in pdf and print.
Distiller largely prefers gif and eps or pdf over, e.g., tif . Only eps and pdf scale.
The solution is to import eps to FrameMaker and replace when creating html .
There seem to be some problems with the color pipeline on MacOS 9 vs. X.
