The students in the Honors Program in the B. Thomas Golisano College of Computing and Information Sciences recently went to California to meet potential employers. GCCIS’s best and brightest upper-class students were welcomed by companies such as Google, Smug Mug, Apple, Zynga, Yelp and Facebook. They were able to provide resumes for future full-time positions and discuss co-op opportunities. The 15 students were accompanied by GCCIS academic advisors, Christina Rohr (CS), Lana Verschage (SE) and Amanda Scheerbaum (IGM). Many of our alumni who work for these companies helped to make this possible and open doors for our current students. This endeavor proved to be so successful for the students that the GCCIS Honors Program hopes to make this a yearly opportunity. Plans are already underway to possibly head to Seattle, Washington or South Carolina for next year.
