Setting up Eudora Mail
When setting up a new connection follow these steps:
- Configure your connections using the wizard to set up a plaintext connection.
- Follow the following steps to convert this plaintext session to an encrypted session.
When changing an
existing configuration, follow these steps to modify your Dominant Personality:
Changes made to this personality will affect all personalities; this is fine if you have one and only one mail service. If you collect mail from several accounts, this may not be the best choice.
- 'Tools' menu.
- 'Options' menu item.
- From the configuration sections on the left, choose 'Checking Mail'.
- On the right pane, in a frame labeled 'Secure Sockets when Receiving', a drop down box is available. By default, 'None' is selected; select 'Required: STARTTLS'.
- Then, from the configuration sections on the left, choose
'Sending Mail'.
- Again select 'Required: STARTTLS' from the drop down box in the
'Secure Sockets when Receiving' frame.
- Accept these settings.
When changing an
existing configuration, follow these steps to modify a Specific Personality:
- 'Tools' menu.
- 'Personalities' menu item.
- Select a CS mail personality, and select 'Properties'
- Select the 'Checking Mail' or 'Incoming Mail' tab
- On
the right pane, in a frame labeled 'Secure Sockets when Receiving', a
drop down box is available. By default, 'None' is selected;
select 'Required: STARTTLS'.
- Accept these settings.
